Infrastructure

Remember, we are defining infrastructure as, “The underlying technological framework and support systems necessary to enable the effective integration and operation of educational technology solutions. It encompasses the hardware, software, networking, and organizational components that create the technological environment in which EdTech initiatives operate.” Complete this reflection to evaluate the degree to which you have considered equity in infrastructure.

Pause to Reflect

Take a few minutes before you start the assessment to reflect. These questions will help you think about your solution and your end users. This will help guide you to answer the reflection questions for the design factor.

  • What is the problem you are trying to solve?
  • Reflect on the different type of end users your solution serves and their unique needs. Think about gender, ability, location, etc.
  • Think about the environment where you are implementing your solution. Online or in person. In school or out of school. Rural or urban.
  • Think about the barriers that might exist – connectivity, affordability, traditional and digital literacy, etc.
